SmartVoice Air Fryer Accessories Guide: What You Can and Can’t Use

SmartVoice air fryers are designed to keep cooking simple—especially with voice control. And that “simple” approach carries over to accessories, too: the only included accessories are the wire rack and the crisper tray.

But that doesn’t mean you’re limited to just those two pieces.

You can safely use several common, compatible accessories—especially items made for high heat like oven-safe silicone, parchment paper, and aluminum foil—as long as you use them correctly. At the same time, some accessories are not recommended because they can create safety risks, block airflow, or damage the smart air fryer.

This guide covers:

  • what the included wire rack is for
  • What the included crisper tray is for
  • what accessories are compatible and safe
  • what accessories you should avoid
  • quick do’s and don’ts so your food cooks evenly and your smart air fryer stays in good condition

Included Accessories: The Wire Rack and Crisper Tray

SmartVoice Air Fryers include a wire rack, also called a crisper rack, designed to sit inside the basket. Its job is simple:

  • Raise food above the basket floor
  • Improve airflow underneath
  • Help crisp the underside and cook more quickly and evenly
  • Adds crispiness on the top layer of food faster

This is especially useful for foods like chicken wings, drumsticks, fries, breaded items, and reheating leftovers where you want better texture.

How to use it (quick reminder):

  1. Remove the basket and place it on a stable surface.
  2. Remove the crisper tray from the basket (if it is in the basket).
  3. Set the wire rack into the basket so it sits flat and stable.
  4. Place food on top in a single layer when possible.

Cleaning method: Most wire racks can be hand-washed or placed in the dishwasher.

SmartVoice Air Fryers also include a crisper tray, also called a crisper plate, designed to sit inside the basket, near the bottom. Its job is simple:

  • Raise food above the basket floor
  • Improve airflow underneath
  • Help crisp the underside and cook more evenly
  • Lets grease, oils, and crumbs drip below the food in the tray to keep things crispy

The crisper plate is designed to sit just above the bottom of the basket; the silicon pads on each side of the crisper plate are designed to hold the plate slightly above the bottom. There will be a little resistance when installing the plate so it stays in place inside the basket.

How to use it (quick reminder):

  1. Remove the basket and place it on a stable surface.
  2. Remove the wire rack from the basket (if it is in the basket).
  3. Press the crisper plate down into the basket so it sits flat and stable.
  4. Place food on top in a single layer when possible.

Cleaning method: The crisper plate should be hand-washed or placed in the dishwasher.

Compatible Accessories You Can Use in SmartVoice Air Fryers

The safest “extra accessories” are the ones made for high heat and designed for smart ovens or smart air fryers.

1) Oven-safe, food-grade silicone accessories (recommended)

These are some of the most useful add-ons because silicone is heat-resistant and easy to clean.

Good silicone options:

  • silicone liners (air fryer basket liners)
  • silicone muffin cups (for egg bites, mini desserts, portioning)
  • silicone tongs and spatulas (for flipping and removing food)
  • silicone mats/trivets designed for air fryers
  • silicone pans

Why silicone works well:

  • heat resistant
  • non-stick properties
  • protects basket from sticky sauces
  • easy cleanup (often dishwasher safe)

Tip: Make sure it’s labeled oven-safe and rated for high temperatures (up to 400 degrees F).

2) Parchment paper (safe with the right method)

Parchment paper is great for reducing mess and preventing sticking—but it must be used correctly.

Best uses for parchment paper:

  • sticky or saucy foods (honey BBQ wings, glazed bites)
  • delicate foods (fish, dumplings)
  • easy cleanup on messy batches

Key safety rule: always weigh it down.
Air fryers are powerful convection machines. If parchment paper isn’t held down by food, it can:

  • tangle into the heating element or fans
  • burn
  • block airflow and cook unevenly

Do this instead:

  • Use perforated air fryer parchment (preferred)
  • Place parchment only after preheating
  • Make sure food sits on top so it stays flat

3) Aluminum foil (useful, but don’t block airflow)

Foil can be helpful for quick cleanup and certain recipes, but it has the same airflow issue as parchment—and it can block heat circulation if used like a full “tray.”

Best uses for foil:

  • lining small areas under very messy foods
  • wrapping items that benefit from steaming slightly (certain vegetables)
  • creating a small “boat” for saucy foods
  • Covering food to make sure it cooks evenly

Foil rules:

  • Don’t cover the entire bottom surface tightly
  • Don’t block vents or airflow holes
  • Never let foil touch the heating element
  • Always keep foil weighted down with food
  • When used as a cover, make sure it is properly secured

Accessories You Should NOT Use (or Use Only If Specifically Air-Fryer Rated)

For SmartVoice Air Fryers, we advise users not to use cooking accessories made of metal, glass, or plastic. Here’s why you should not use these materials in our smart air fryers.

1) Plastic accessories (do not use)

Plastic can warp, melt, release odors, and potentially create unsafe fumes at air-fryer temperatures.

Avoid:

  • plastic containers
  • plastic “microwave-safe” bowls
  • plastic utensils inside the basket during cooking

If it’s plastic, keep it out of the cooking chamber.

2) Glass accessories (avoid)

Most glass isn’t designed for rapid convection heat and temperature swings. It can crack or shatter due to thermal shock, especially in compact high-heat appliances like air fryers.

Avoid:

  • glass bowls
  • glass meal prep or measuring containers
  • regular drinking glasses or kitchen glassware

Even oven-safe glass can be risky in an air fryer because of direct airflow and heating intensity.

3) Metal accessories (avoid non-approved metal add-ons)

This is the category that needs the most clarity:

  • The included wire rack is metal and is designed for the smart air fryer.
  • Many third-party metal accessories (like random metal racks, skewers, or trays) are not guaranteed to be compatible.

So the safest rule is: Only use metal accessories that are specifically designed and labeled for air fryer use, and that fit the basket without scraping or damaging the coating.

Avoid:

  • generic metal racks that don’t fit properly
  • metal pans with sharp edges that can scratch the basket
  • stacked metal systems that block airflow
  • loose metal items that can rattle into the heating element area

If you want extra racks, choose accessories explicitly labeled “air fryer safe” and sized for your model.

Quick Do’s and Don’ts for SmartVoice Air Fryer Accessories

✅ Do

  • Use the included wire rack for better crisping and airflow
  • Use oven-safe silicone liners and cups
  • Use perforated parchment with food, weighing it down
  • Use foil in small amounts without blocking airflow
  • Prioritize airflow—air fryers work best when air can circulate

❌ Don’t

  • Don’t put plastic in the air fryer
  • Don’t use glass containers inside the basket
  • Don’t use random metal trays/racks unless air-fryer rated and properly fitted
  • Don’t run parchment/foil loose without food weighing it down
  • Don’t fully cover the bottom of the basket and choke airflow

SmartVoice Air Fryers keep accessories simple: the crisper rack and crisper plate are the only included accessories needed for crisp, even results.

If you want to expand your cooking options, stick to oven-safe silicone, parchment paper, and aluminum foil—used the right way—because they’re practical, safe, and compatible with high-heat convection cooking. Avoid plastic, be cautious with glass, and only use metal add-ons if they’re specifically made for smart air fryers and fit your basket without interfering with airflow.
